ABOUT CANON ANDREW WHITE
I have done many interviews with Andrew which have been included in my programme. Dr. Andrew White, Jerusalem Middle East Reconciliation International Ambassador, is a respected academic and author, a medical professional, an Anglican priest and an internationally renowned global peacemaker.
Jerusalem Merit greatly benefits from his insights and experiences enabling it to prioritise and target specific areas that require financial, medical, educational and spiritual support for Iraqi refugees residing in Jordan.
Jerusalem Merit is based in the UK which is one of the principal areas for rasing both funds and awareness . The Jerusalem Merit team regularly travels around the UK speaking in churches, synagogues and schools to tell the story of the persecuted church in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East.

The Messihi School
The Messihi School (‘Messihi’ being Arabic for Christian) operates in the suburb of Marka in Amman. It was established by Canon Andrew in 2014 for the Iraqi Christian refugees fleeing to Jordan at the time. The school uses the premises of an established Catholic School and the school day starts once the Catholic school finishes. The school has just under 300 students aged from four to sixteen. All the teachers and staff are volunteers. For further information, please contact the UK base.
The Amman Clinic
Twice a week, the St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Medical Clinic in Amman opens its doors to the Iraqi refugee community, providing free medical treatment for these people. The patients are bussed in from poorer suburbs of Amman, and the clinic has fully qualified doctors and nurses who volunteer their time.

Israel / Palestine Projects
Our Ambassador, Canon White, has been working in Israel for over three decades. He has links with the Orthodox Jewish Community as well as with various churches in Jerusalem. He is also the Vice-President of the Israel Trust of the Anglican Church.
He has been involved in extensive reconciliation work here, including negotiating the release of hostages and terrorist demands during the siege of the Church of the Nativity in 2002. Canon White is also opposed to the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel and invites pro-BDS individuals opposed to the State of Israel to visit the country in order to persuade them of the importance and positive influence of having Israel as a Jewish state in the Middle East.
He also runs an annual School of Reconciliation in Jerusalem.
