Famines and Rumours of War
AS we move into 2022 we read of rumours of war and famine. Russia threatening to invade Ukraine which has the largest Jewish population outside of New York and the devastating famine which has hit Afghanistan. Andrew Boyd from Release International says that thousands have fled the Taliban but for the Christians who chose to remain are at risk of their lives. Famine and rumours of war.
As we move into 2022 we are already seeing increased turmoil and unrest in the world with rumours of war between Russia and the Ukraine and famine in Afghanistan causing great suffering to the people including the beleaguered Christian community.
PRAY FOR IRAN – THE 2ND FASTEST GROWING CHURCH IN THE WORLD
In the last 20 years, more Iranians have become Christians than in the previous 13 centuries—since Islam came to Iran. In 1979, there were an estimated 500 Christians from a Muslim background in Iran. Today, there are hundreds of thousands—some estimate more than 1 million. According to the research organization Operation World, Iran has the fastest-growing evangelical movement in the world. The second-fastest-growing church is in Afghanistan—where Afghans are being reached in large part by Iranians. The church in Iran is growing despite persecution and needs our urgent prayer.
